
5 TIPS FOR CLEANING MY SILVER JEWELLERY AT HOME?
Over time silver jewellery will start to tarnish, the surface will start to become cloudy and dark making the item look very unpleasant. How should i clean it ?
Lemon-lime soda
Bring back the shine by placing your silver items in a bowl of lemon-lime soda for one hour. Rinse in warm water and dry thoroughly.
Toothpaste
Squeeze a small amount of toothpaste onto a soft cloth and slowly clean your item being careful not to rub too hard. Rinse thoroughly in warm water and dry with soft cloth
Window cleaner
Spray a small amount of window cleaner onto a soft rag and polish gently. You will start to notice the shine almost immediately. Rinse thoroughly in warm water and dry with soft cloth
Tomato Sauce
Tomato sauce is not just for putting on your chips. Did you know it can also be used to clean your silver. Squirt a little onto your soft rag and place your item in leaving for up to 15 minutes then rub gently, to get into all the small places you may need a soft tooth brush. Rinse thoroughly in warm water and dry with soft cloth.
Washing machine liquid
Line a heat resistant bowl with tin foil and bring a kettle to the boil and fill the bowl. Carefully add one tablespoon of liquid or powder and gently stir. Place your items in the bowl with a pair of tongs. Leave your items in for 5 minutes, longer if very tarnished. Take your items out carefully with tongs and Rinse thoroughly in warm water and dry with soft cloth.
